Hi everyone!
I realize this might not be the best time to be asking this as many
regulars are either off to Louisville or already there, but i am preparing
to do another series of tests this weekend and am seeking recipes for ^6
oxidation glazes that are translucent and pool over textures.

I did a search of the archives (not much out there)and thoroughly fine-
tooth-combed all my glaze books, have a few tests lined up but would really
like to avoid re-inventing the wheel on this...
All the help is always appreciated,

i am seeking deep greens, browns, blues, and any other colours as well as
celadons.
I have to redo all my glazes now that i'm playing with texture.

Thanx!

Hi Anne,

I guess if there are no such glaze recipes that are readily
available, I'd suggest getting any of your gloss glazes that you like,
and reducing the alumina content in them. You could line blend it
reducing the clay content. This will remove some siilca also, but it
will give you a start. Or you could use glaze calc. software to
compensate for it. You might run in to problem with the glaze staying
in suspension if you rip out too much clay, but for what it may be
worth its an idea.

Thanx

Thanx for the suggestion but i don't have any glaze software yet. I will
add a line blend like you suggested to the list of tests for the weekend. I
do have a few glazes i like but they might be too opaque for the effect i'm
going for. Glaze software is great but, that's for the future... i have
other tools that are a higher priority to buy first.

So, for now i was just hoping some people who work with textures might want
to share their glazes with me and a few people did respond offlist with
recipes and pictures which is really cool and i am really grateful. I have
a few new chemicals to buy but i will have a few more tests to do and
hopefully some of these will be keepers with this claybody.

I will keep hoping a ^6 oxidation celadon recipe will come my way...Thanx!

Hello fellow Claybuds!
I heard from a few ppl that they didn't see the original message so i
thought i should say it again,
I am looking for ^6 glazes that pool or break over texture so you could
really see the texture, like a good translucent glaze.

I use M^6G but would like recipes that others have used with success on
their textured pieces for tests i am preparing for the weekend... I am
seeking all colours that would show the textured work underneath, but
foodsafe and durable is best.

Thanx!
