virginia potters?

This is a long shot, but Jeff is applying for his dream job at Mountain
Lake Biological Research Station, not far from Blacksburg, VA. I'm
curious about the ceramics scene in that area. I know Virginia Tech is
nearby, and the research station belongs to U. of Virginia.

Anybody have the scoop? Or live there? I have tons of questions...

Yours
Kelly in Ohio, reassuring my kids AND my parents that Jeff has had lots
of interviews and even a few offers, and we've never moved yet...

Kelly, I live in Charlottesville, VA, about two and half hours from VA TECH.
Not sure of the mileage but Floyd County is not too far away from Tech
(southwest VA) and has a wonderful crafts community with potters, woodworkers, etc. The city of Roanoke has ARts on the Square and that's not too far either.
You should get a lot of response to your inquiry.
Beth in foothills of blue ridge mtns of Virginia :)

Kelly,

Check out Floyd area potters/artists at www.16hands.com (Silvie Granatelli,
Ellen Shankin, etc.) and the Floyd area at www.floydvirginia.com.
