I have made an 18" sculpture using a Lizella blend claybody that will be
fired to cone 06-04 and am wondering if anyone could suggest possible glaze
or firing treatments for this particular claybody?

I understand it is brick red at cone 6 with iron spit outs but we will not
be firing that high..Has anyone done much work with this clay?

I love Lizella, buy some at Kickwheel in Atlanta whenever
we are through there.
It makes wonderful large bowls and mugs but.....it does not vitrify untill
cone 9, it starts to slump at cone 11.
At o6 it will be a wonderful orange, I have had people ask me what the name
of
the glaze is on a bisque piece. When I tell them it is unglazed and will
turn darker red when
fired again they usually respond "too bad".

Lizella seems to loves glaze no matter the color, I haven't found anything
that looks
bad on it. I like to trim a raised foot on my bowls and leave them unglazed
to show
off the lovely red clay.

I found a couple of photos and posted them on my Ebay blog, check them out
at..

You may have to do the copy paste thing.
