red quest

thanks to the dozen or so folks that have
sent about 25 red recipes to me.
and about 50 new colored recipes..from robin egg blue to brown.

it is not that i cannot dig out a red idea.
clayart is about ideas/new changes/movement.

i just explored that idea.

i have four or five great alterations of red.

we know about copper, we know about tin ox.
we know about down firing, or re/firing reds.
we have all the notes on chinese copper red in joe
koon's vault.

i have made about 4,000 copper red pots
over the last twenty years...they fly out of my
studio. i just wanted some new ideas.
i did copper red over temmoku twenty years ago.
nice stuff.

this was my own clayart fun...and it was.

it is a metaphor for:
`anyone have a nice white cone 6 recipe?
you know, perfect right out of the box.`

yes, about 3,000.

i learned a great deal from some good friends.
i like that a great deal.
and, we smiled some too.
good for us.

We sometimes butt heads, Mel, but I sent you a big virtual "high five" on
this one. Cracked me up totally. Thanks for the moment of lightness.
