Timothy,

I don't think you are going to be successful. I have done a little
glass fusing and learned that in order to successfully fuse glass A
to glass B you have to use glasses (is that the plural of glass?)
that have the same coefficient of expansion. People pay pretty high
prices for glasses that have compatible COEs. So its not a question
of arriving at the correct cooling cycle (tho of course that is
important too) but you have to find a clay that has the same COE as
the glass you are using since you are, in effect, fusing glass to
clay. You glass experts out there, is this correct? Jon Pacini, is
this even possible?

Hi Tim,

Just don't forget - the COE of the glass must match (to a degree) the
expansion of your clay. No amount of slow cooling will cure that if it's
not right.

If you know the COE of your clay you could then make the glass with the
right COE to avoid dunting or crazing.

When glass is layered it should have similar expansion/contraction rates
which makes me think you can buy it with different COE's.

You need to think of glass as glaze - with little or no alumina - so it
will slide off if it can.

Slow cooling can and will affect the degree of recrystalization - clear
glass is a super cooled solution.
