small group, wishing south carolina workshop presenters for 2008

Our group, Midlands Clayart Society, has been in existence since about 1984
and had many workshops but we are presently a smallish group and use a
borrowed facility so weekend workshops are the routine. Likely all day Saturday
and POSSIBLY Sunday [10AM-5PM OR ? ] afternoons 1:30PM TO 5-6 PM. HANDS ON
WORKSHOPS ARE PREFERRED.

We are seeking to get proposals for 2008 scheduling, who have not done
one for us recently, for our group and have a modest budget so keeping travel
expenses down or wrapping a series with nearby or shared presentations
would help.

We are also open to finding nearby groups to combine for any larger venue
workshop ,like we used to have years ago with USA Columbia.. Members have
their own wheels and several extruders and slabrollers are available .Kilns can
be available.

In your proposal, send any needs and preferences when here presenting, and
list past references where you gave workshops if you are not well known
here. A video that can be viewed by the selection committee will be considered
for not ''well known'' presenters who have something new to offer .We will
make our decisions after May 2007.

Hi Megan!

I was delighted to see your message on Clayart. My husband & I are relocating to SC as soon as we can sell our NJ house. I've been trying to find a clay guild in SC. Currently I belong to the Potters Guild of NJ & it has been a wonderful experience. Where are you located? Would you tell me about your guild? Does the guild have a website?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Barbara

Hi, just saw your interest in a SC clay guild. In the Augusta, GA/ Aiken,
SC area we have started a new clay guild recently. If you will be near
the middle/ western border of SC you should look into us. It is called
Clay Artists of the South East (CASE). Many terrific people, many skill
levels. Feel free to email me off list if you'd like more info. Good
luck on your move!

Hi Barbara,

I'm sorry I put yOur message aside to answer in full but time got away and I
misplaced it in my non-filing system, what system?

I am in Columbia, the capitol city of SC..Our group is the midlands Clayart
Society and meets at 1932 Calhoun St, downtown at 7 pm on the third Tuesday
of the month, no summers. There is also a separate Raku club that fires
together.

CALL ME WHEN YOU GET HERE.
