Hi all,again,
I find myself in my current situation here in Mexico with few materials
available to make some cone 04 glazes. However, I do have some Duncan
SN351, some Mason stains and some stains used here for Talavera.
Can I mix the commercial glaze with the stains? And if so, how much dry
stain to say a cup of the glaze?
Thanks again for your help. Fran Schwartz

Hi Fran,

Why not just weigh it out?
Weigh a container. Weigh out glaze, allowing for the weight of the
container. Do some testing to see what percentage of stain to
100 gm of glaze looks good, then adjust to get the color saturation
that you want.

Generally this works okay. Maybe you want to dissolve the stain first so
it mixes more completely. I'd start with about 1/4 tsp stain to a tablespoon
of glaze.....that would be about 1-1/2 tblsp to a cup
of glaze, but why not start with a smaller amount and see if you like it?
