Brian- I take it the recipes for these glazes are part of what you get if
you order the posters? some of these look like a lot of fun!

Thanks.

Barb,
yes, simple volume mixtures are all labelled
They are very flexible temperature range,
precision is unecessary - purely decorative or sculptural textures.
Low temp and raku (unsmoked)

Dear Barb,
I do not know about the recipes with Brian's poster, but Brian does give
workshops. I am sure he can elaborate on that. I hope I get lucky one
day to attent.

However, you can start by taking any of the materials in your studio and
make
1:1 mixes. I was interested in Brian's work and made some tests after
Brian's madman methods. It was the other end of the spectrum from MC6G
and was a great compliment to learning the materials, and who is the boss
in a mix.

On my website there is link to my Yahoo albums and there are many examples
of crawls, bawls and more made from Gartside inspired tests.

I did this work to see which material would dominate another and what the
characteristic of that material is, but you can certainly just mix fluxes
with clays, clays with colorants, etc, etc. Also 3 part mixes, and when
you add a colorant, a lot of very fun things happen.

This is the one box of test tiles I keep close at hand because I enjoy
looking at them.

Regards from Alisa

I attended a Gartside workshop in Phoenix. Great fun, lots to learn, man=

It's not quite believable that you can mix together two or three portions=
of
anything you =0D
choose and so often get very desirable and/or interesting results. =0D
If you get the chance, attend his workshop. He's an exceptionally nice
person, good instructor. =0D
=0D
As to the recipes.......... The percentages/portions of which materials =
are
on each photo. =0D
It's not readily visible when you look at a photo of a poster. =0D
BTW, the posters are so well worth the cost!=0D
