Watch that clay! I lost power for a week, after the
storm here two weeks ago. I have windows and a
little kerosene heater so I kept working, but I lost
a bunch of work in progress when the temps
dropped to around 2 F. (-17 C). Got just a few frost
cracks on the nearly-dry work, but total collapse
for the still-wet stuff after the kerosene ran out.

Blankets will help insulate the work, and aluminum
foil will work like a space blanket. A black trash
bag and a lightbulb do wonders, but only if the
power is on.

Next time, I'll try some of those strategies.

Ironically, the stuff was all made from formerly
frozen clay. The clay still in bins was unaffected.
It had enough thermal mass to make it through
the night, but if it hadn't, it wouldn't have been
any worse off. Naturally, only the thin, hollow,
(and laboriously reconstituted) almost-art suffered.
