we went to a lecture/tour of one of our favorite homes
in minneapolis today. it was built in 1913.
lovely. prairie style.

the docent was telling us that the owner was a member
of the seug's group...of course we said...`what is SEUG?`

it was the `Society to Eliminate Unwanted Gifts`. it seems
that gift giving got rather insane during this time...friends, servants,
neighbors...and it was almost silly. and, the gifts got to be
rather cheap, trashy and silly. so SEUG was born.

i thought of our posts last week and it made me laugh.
the cycle just keeps on going round and round.

Mel,

We'll be setting up a Bath Chapter!

My family are becoming really Anti with all the hype that surrounds us
this time of year.
If we can't eat it or drink it we don't want to know. Polishing it and
dusting it are OUT, unless of course they're pots WE bought!!!!!!
