Hey everyone,

I have put up some informative pictures of my bowl carving project.
This might clear up what I was talking about the other day. I'm flying
by the seat of my pants here, have no idea what I am doing, but it
seems to be working.

Beautiful Platter and carving - interesting blog..... Are those
pumpkin carving tools you are using?

Will you post a link to the platter after it is glazed? Would like
to see the end result....

It is just beautiful.....Wonderful job!! I do
handbuilding and slumping and I am going to try to do
this week a bun bowl for my daughter for
Christmas....wish me luck...her dishers are all plain
and round so I thought I might try a design of just
round circles all together to make the bun basket. What
do you think? It would be in keeping with the roundness
of her plates but giving a little something extra to
the table....
I am excited to try but scared....lol
Happy Sunday

taylor,

nice. what you are doing seems to be working.how long did it take you to
carve around that bowl? I use itsy trimming tools to carve with leaves nice
clean cut and you can get a nice bevel pretty accurately.

Remarkable work, Taylor. You must have a gentle touch=0D
to do all that cutting without the bowl's edge fracturing.=0D
Then, it appears that you cleaned and smoothed everything.=0D

Hey Taylor!
Nice carving...I hope you will post some pictures of the finished product.
I do a lot of pit firing, so I also enjoyed your photos of your latest pots
and firing.
I have been able to get lots of good color quite consistently except for
red. Maybe I need a bit of oxidation at the end of the firing I don't know.
I have experimented quite a bit but still have questions.
What do you think? Do you have any suggestions?

Hey Taylor - I'd say that your pants are terrific to fly by! I love the way you
have re-arranged your studio, too.
