Folks:
I thought I would pass this on, with Mel's indulgence.

I have no idea how many people plan to attend this coming NCECA in
Louisville, or if you're planning on bringing/wearing a boa to help ID you
to other Clayarters if you're new to us, or have never been to NCECA, or
"just because". (Oh, go ahead, roll your eyes , I don't mind.)

However, www.ostrich.com is having a sale December 8-10 on much of their
stock. Marabou boas (the soft ones) are $2.50 each (US Dollars) for the
regular ones. There may be a further discount for quantity purchases, but
how many does one need? (Of course, if you feel like going "fancy", they go
all the way up to about $250. each for peacock. Yikes!)
I never keep them, just buy them for the conference and give them away; so
for me, cheap is good. Sure does bring a smile to faces, though. And
that's the point. Helps keep your neck warm in cold climates too, like last
year's snow in Portland. BRRR!

Note:
I have no connection to the company except as a customer of theirs, but if
you've gotten a boa from me at a past NCECA, it was one of theirs.

Best,
Wayne Seidl

and purple is the color this year, right??? I'm thinking to sprinkle
mine with a few guinea feathers for fun. The guinea feather boas are
way out of my price range.....I'll be adding my own. :)

Wayne dear....What is the requisite color for Louisville. I am proposing
Kentucky Blue...matches my eyes...matches Mel's eyes....
We should all have the t-shirt that reads...'Gettin' Lucky in Kentucky' too.

nope - the color this year is either blue or green (think grass - or KY bluegrass).
