The NJ Potter's Guild is looking to sponsor a hands-on Graham Hay workshop
on March 9-11, 2007. The workshop will be held in Denville NJ. Graham will
be coming from Australia to the NCECA convention and is planning a workshop
tour throughout the country. Check out Graham's website at:

Graham's workshop will include:

Friday night digital slideshow of images selected from over 50 paperclay
artists from
around the world, to suit the interests and backgrounds of the workshop
participants.

Saturday & Sunday: Demonstration roughly every 1/2 hour (or so) of new
techniques,
including:
A) Making paperclay (percentages, paper and fibre types, types of clay, for
fired and non-
fired works),
B) Joining, wet to dry, dry to dry (dip'stick), "pourjoins", combinations
(eg dipjoins), unfired
to fired, lattice vertical and upside down building
C) Wet, dry, and combination casting, "overcasting", speed casting
D) Additions: pasta and other food clays, foamclay, woolclay, glueclay
E) Speed drying and firing aspects
F) Sculpturing and texture shortcuts, such as dryballs, feathering, etc
G) Implications for studio production and working methods.
H) The emerging aesthetics.
I) INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION AND ASSISTANCE AS NEEDED WITH HANDS ON EXERCISES


The approximate cost will be between $75 - $100 for the weekend, depending
on the cost
of his air travel.
