anyone interested in single firing?

Hi all,

For anyone who has an interest in single firing, Fran Tristram, the author
of the only book I know of on the subject, has started a discussion group in
the google forums, and would love to have more input, I'm sure. She comes
at it from a different angle than I do, and it is interesting to have a
number of takes on each question posed. I've cut and pasted the address below:

I hope that it gets you there. If not, I'm sure you can do a search and end
up at the right place.

Best,

Hope your sale goes great!=0D

I am definitely interested in single firing. Fran Trisram's book is
excellent.=0D
It will be a little while before I'm finished settling into my new studio=
=2E=0D
Then I can move on from making to firing. With the recent increases in
electric =0D
costs here, single firing will be a blessing. My highest summer bill was
$535.00. Unbelievable. No kiln firing that month either, only A/C.=0D

I believe it was also Donna who told me about the newsgroup: =0D

Hi Ivor,
Yes, you are right, Dennis's book has been out for quite a while. I know
that I read it when it came out, but as a nascent single-firer at that time,
I didn't find it to be much help for me.
Best,
Richard Aerni
