I wanted to report back that the firing went much better than i expected! I
am reaaaaally happy with the results i got for my first pots made in my own
home! The colours were nothing spectacular in the tile samples on their
site but they turned out beautiful.
The one small thing i think i might have done wrong was not dusting my
pieces before glazing and so i did get some pinholing on some pieces but
not with any one specific colour, just some on a few pieces.
I am completely relieved because i couldn't see myself firing a kiln to
cone 10 with only a few test pieces in it, so i though what the heck,
whatever happens, happens...
It was a gamble that paid off this time but as i know its literally playing
with fire, i shan't be doing that every time! I will however be using these
colours on my next cone 10 firing to use them up.
Can i apply a clear glaze over the pieces with the pinholing and refire
them in the next load? Or should i keep them as a reminder of what not to
forget?
Thankyou,
Anne
