Ah but Alyssa you are causing the bottoms to crack BECAUSE you are
retarding the drying by covering the bottoms with plastic....

Once your bowls are trimmed, stack them opening to opening (see my
website,under pottery) and turn the two bowl unit over every day
until both bowls are dry. If you are talking a single bowl, leave it
on the shelf upside down and don't MESS with it until it is dry! You
really should keep the greenware loosely covered up with plastic
until it is dry. My "People Pots" are wrapped in plastic for as much
as eight weeks or more.... no cracks....
