One of the signs in the Earth which guided bronze age metallurgists in =
their search for metallic ores was the absence of many plant species as =
well as fungi. This was because copper ores release sufficient copper =
into the soil to poison plants which would otherwise grow. It was this =
knowledge that lead to the discovery of Copper in many places in South =
Australia. It is possible to fossick for malachite and bornite at old =
mine workings. Nice to get a free supply from time to time but you have =
to b e careful because of potential impurities
Copper chemicals are widely used as fungicides in the vineyards.
Best regards.
