Wayne writes:

".......That makes my artist statement:
"I find my inspiration watching daily morning ritual behavior in my
household. The most important factor in the making of that art is whether or
not my cats will be able to destroy it by sitting on it, and I am truly
driven by the overwhelming desire to help them fulfill their ambitions. The
process I use depends on the piece being made, either by throwing clay or
hand building. I consider myself neither artist, artisan or crafter. I am
a potter, when I am not busy doing hundreds of other things which foster
that talent."

Wayne! You are a wicked man! Thanks for the laugh!

But, my dear, you really need to add pretentious words, and profoundly
superficial thought to this statement to be truly en vogue.
You must use words like metaphor, Angst, homage (not to be confused with
fromage), allegory, Zeitgeist, conceptual (and variants) post -modern, and
surely, in clay, nostalgie de la boue!

A teensy bit of name dropping never hurts. Keep it subtle. Don't SAY you
studied with So and So at Wherever, but speak of Hero and Master by
nickname. Refer to the place not by geographic location, but say: "As Bo
said at Joe's Diner" . That shows the IN crowd how IN you are...

A tidge of political sensibility also helps. You know: your cats generate
all the electricity for the kiln by rubbing against each other.

Be of good courage indeed!
