Thought I would share this result. The inside glaze is nutmeg. I picked =
up the wrong bowl when glazing. I also have a nutmeg on the outside, =
slate blue on the inside waiting to be fired.LOL....
Oh well, sometimes it's the accidents....

Have you tried nutmeg under waterfall brown? If not ... do so. I get
a beautiful glossy translucent dark magenta.

Hello, Bert,

"There is no such thing as accident; it is fate misnamed."
-- Napoleon Bonaparte (Napoleon I)

VSB has always been one of my favorite ^6 glazes. All praise due to
Ron & John.

But I've never used it on an iron-bearing body. Very nice result.
I'm gonna give it a shot on my porcelaneous body with an iron slip.

Bert, am I correct that the VSB on the outside isn't over anything
(like Nutmeg??)?

Regards,
Maurice

Thanks Mark. I may try that. I have found the waterfall brown to not be
a big seller by itself.

Your correct. It's the slate blue alone. Just glazing too late at night
when I was tired. I realized before I loaded but since it was just a
test I went ahead with it.

Also, I agree all praise to Ron & John. That's one reason I like to
share the results.

agreed.

neither is the nutmeg / white satin glaze.

My mug in this years exchange was the nutmeg / white satin with some
simple brushwork. I made about twenty or so just like it. I have
sold only one. I love them ... but blue rules the cashbox.

Laguna Frost + Bone with waterfall brushwork is beautifull ... but it
doesn't sell well. They keep asking if I have one just like it with
the blue glaze.

Mark.

David Hendley cobalt blues.:)

I just mixed the nutmeg combo this past week and fired a kiln load of it
for my artist tour this past Saturday. Sold 9 or 10 pieces in it. The
bowl on my website sold. Two mugs, two pitchers, and several small
bowls. Had lots of compliments about it.

We'll see how it does at my next sale. I'll let you know.

Hi Bert,

I never answered - was on the road but I'm home again - I did take a
look at the pot - looking good.
