This another of those perennial topics..

As far as I know any off centre circular article, when rotated on the =
wheelhead, has a periodic motion. Provided your position of the foot =
pedal is not changed the periodicity remains constant.

So you get a beat created.....Tic...Tic...Tic...Tic.... The trick is to =
sense this with your "Off" hand then at each impulse say ""Tic"" until =
you feel the rhythm. Now you have to estimate where the halfway point is =
and say ""Tock"". Repeat this until you have picked up the two note beat =
then tap with you leading hand on the ""Toc"". A little practice is =
needed to get the force in proportion to the degree of offset but it is =
a secure method.
