Dear Padre Hendley,

You have hit the nail right on the head with "if you were an
experienced potter." The truth is I am not and won't be for some time
to come. I have, however, been doing my trimming penance from day one.
I have even gotten to the point where I can trim bowls with just a
damp wheel head, three taps, and my home-made trimming tool. Dink,
dink, dink, done.

If I were an experienced potter, I would not be needing to trim jugs
in the first place. If I could throw jugs like Jim Dale, I'd be a clay
god. Does saying that put me in jeopardy of kiln fire, Padre?

I must have had really soft clay for making that chuck because the
plastic on the top trick wasn't much help when the thick yet soft
walls deformed.

Let me know how many Hail Buttons I have to perform.
