cutting carbide shelves

I've cut about 20 or so 24x24x11/4" carbide shelves that I bought from
Crane Plumbing Co. with cheap 7" diamond blades, also I split length wise
the 21" post from the same co. on a masonary tile/brick cutters with no
problems, use water and go slow, maybe the US carbide is harder than what
we Canadians make?
