Thanks, Karin for the information about your bout with arthritis ..... =
and
for the introduction to your website. Very nice. Clean. =
Straightforward.
Colorful. Interesting. A worthwhile visit.

While true that Biofreeze cannot be purchased over the counter, it may
be ordered on the internet. It's handy to be able to purchase larger
amounts than one can usually find in the physical therapist's place of
business. A quick search ought to offer you all you want.

FYI and for any other potters interested....... I have occupational
therapy five times weekly, much of which involves stretching and
applications of heat&cold as well as massage. I schedule for
midafternoons so I may
have mornings and evenings for clay. Working so far. Just slowly.
Teaching me patience..... yet again. Besides conventional medications,
I drink sour cherry juice which also can be ordered from the net or
sometimes is found in health food stores. I definitely consider myself
fortunate to have all of the above available to me with little effort on =
my
part.

Thank you to so many clayarters who have sent private posts detailing
suggestions based on their own experiences. What an amazing group!

Joyce
In the Mojave desert of California USA still in the Youth of her Old =
Age.
Life is good. Today's bowls, while not exactly what I meant them to be,
are the best so far. Compared to that first one when I still didn't =
know I'd
developed a serious problem with throwing AND handbuilding...... you'd
have to see it to believe it. None have been fired yet. Kinda holdin'
my breath on that one. I'm sure now that the thrown miniature teapots=20
likely worked so well because there was minimal pressure of any kind.
I know I had over 300 in a fairly short time .... all kinds...... some =
even
pretty good. BUT I don't want to keep on making miniatures!! I admire
those I see but my destiny is elsewhere........

You might also try some stuff called 'blue emu" (least that's what I think it's called) and you can get it in the drug or grocery store. We have a speech therapist at our school how swears by it and she's had polio and is usually in pain I think.
