When buying bamboo it's very important to buy from a nursery that has a
thorough knowlege of the plants. Lots of nurseries sell what they call
bamboo. Some is, some isn't. Others will tell you it's a clumping bamboo
when they don''t have a clue. They just want to sell some plants. Not
to denigrate Home Depot or other stores like that, but that is not where
you should be buying bamboo. There is rarely enough information on the
tag for you to make a wise choice. A nursery that specializes in
tropical foliage and has DIRECT connections with the grower is your best
source. Make them give you a written guarantee that what you are buying
is clumping bamboo. Then at the very least, you can demand that they
provide you with enough Round-up to kill it.
