In his MFT instruction book, Nils Lou
suggests the use of regular casters as an
alternative to the v-grooved ones for
angle iron track.
It would be very easy to construct a
guide system that would cause the kiln
car to center and square up to the taper
of the kiln envelope.
Also, not using track means the car can
be moved anywhere the floor will permit
to ease loading and unloading.
In addition, very high load capacity swivel
casters like the Bassick brand we use
on our 3000 pound clay carts cost only
about $65 each at Applied Industrial
Technologies. They have urethane tires cast
over aluminum wheels and roll smoothly
