Thanks to everyone who answered my post. I took the 3 sections apart, looked
at connections--they were fine. The problem is the old bakelite plugs that
go to each section. They were charred. I think they couldn't handle the heat
with the new elements. I've ordered a kit from Skutt to direct-wire them.
However, I am buying a brand new kiln with a computer, much larger, etc.,
and can hardly wait to get it. I was told by Skutt that this kiln is from
the 70's. I've had alot of use from it.
