Hey y'all,

YOu know that Billie Mitchell and I and a couple of other Clayart folks =
have been down to Indian Church Village in Belize to teach pottery =
classes to the village folks. The following is information about a =
fundraiser the kids are doing to raise money for their school expenses. =
Children in Belize are only educated through the equivalent of our =
middle school grades. If they want high school, they have to pay for it =
- all of it - school, plus room and board, because the school is a long =
way from the village and they have to live in the town where the school =
is located during the week. It's something like $2000/USD a year or =
more per kid. Karen sent this email info to me. If you want to see =
pictures of the cards, email me and I"ll send you the image. Otherwise, =
I hope you will support the kids and the old-fashioned habit of =
handwritten cards (LOL) and get a set for yourself! :) If you're not =
interested in cards, but would be interested in sponsoring a student, =
Karen can help you with that too; let me know and I"ll give you her =
email address.
Thanks!

Some of the Indian Church students are selling sets of greeting cards as =
a fundraising endeavor to help cover additional expenses they will incur =
this summer and next year as they enter 4th form-their final year of =
high school. The cards are hand-colored by the students in the =
scholarship program, so each card is unique. Each set contains one card =
of each of the 19 Maya months, all on bright colored card-stock paper, =
plus 3 Lamanai-design cards, with envelopes. Cards are "Invitation =
Size", 4 3/8" x 5 =BE". Insides are blank so they can be used for any =
occasion.

To order your set of cards, please send a check payable to Karen Pierce =
for $30US ($25 plus an additional $5US to cover the cost of mailing). =20
