Hello Everybody, Registration for the All Fired Up conference at Adelphi
University in Garden City New York is going on and I would encourage
anyone who is thinking about attending to sign up soon because it is going
to be one heck of a conference.
For starters this conference will focus on alternative firing techniques
by artist, Mel Jacobson,need we say more?Harvey Sadow,raku and
sandblasting techniques, Steven Hill, the master of the single
firing,Posey Bacoupolos the majolica wonder, Steve Branfman, the raku guru
is back,Mitch Lyon, printmaking on clay,Randy Brodnax and Don Ellis
absolutely amazing guys to watch make their work as well as fire it. Bill
Shillalies from Adelphi University, the master of horsehair double walled
vessels and soda firings, Dan Christoffel, known for his anagama fired
sculptures and myself Gina Mars, demonstrating how i make my portals and
biggie bowls as well as how to incorporate these firing techniques into
the classroom.Linda Keleigh will demo burnishing and barrel firing.
In addition to all these amazing presenters you can bring a few pieces up
to 4 inches to horsehair fire, soda fire and raku. Don't forget all
presenters and participants can join in the bowl exchange saturday night
and also join Prof Gene Hecht at his lecure on George Ohr.Anyone who is

Boy, if I weren't already going to two week-long
workshops in July, I'd be on a plane to this one!
