(Way back in May of 2000 when I spent a week at the Appalachian Center
for Craft (with Priscilla Hollinger) learning to work with terra cotta
and how to use a kick wheel, Megan was an artist in residence at the
Smithville campus, and even then, her interest was patently in the
sculptural possibilities of the horse. Her pieces are often of terra
cotta, and may be glazed, painted, or left unglazed. Superb work!)

http://www.anceceramics.com/
(Claudio b. Argentina; Elana B. Israel)
(Their first studio was based in Faenza, Italy where they were both
enrolled at the G.Ballardini State Institute for the Art of Ceramics to
specialize in the local 500 year old tradition of Majolica ceramic
decoration. "Inspired by that European experience, their current
pieces are wheel thrown and then glazed with the vivid, shiny pigments
of Majolica. [...] Maintaining the hand-made, detailed touch of past
styles, they have developed a unique, functional line of objects that
expresses their strong connection with contemporary design and the
multicultural reality of their life and surroundings. Elana and
Claudio have recently settled in Vancouver [...])

Mark Pedro de la Torre, (Stoke Lacy, Herefordshire, England, UK)
