is terra cotta strong enough to hang outdoors

Can anyone tell me from experience if Terra Cotta fired to cone 04
strong enough to hang outdoors without worry of breaking? I have a
Fancy Majolica birdhouse / terra cotta and wonder if it is safe. I would
not want to lose the house or the wren family which have inhabited my
garden tree for 4 years running, or is that flying. I have holes in the
roof with nylon cording on cone 9 stoneware and they hang tough as nails
but wonder about TC. Any helps would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Llewellyn I have many Terra Cotta items in the garden which have been fired
to 03 and haven't had a breakage yet. These items have been outdoors for
many years.
The hole on which they hang I have reinforced with a small donut of TC
about 3/16" in diameter on 1/4" thick slab rolled material.
Kind regards,
Brian {Croc} in South Australia.
