kaopaque 20?

The closest match would probably be Georgia DB-Float, since it is also
an air-floated Kaolin, however, because Kaopaque-20 is delaminated as
Steve pointed out, it's still going to be very different. You might
try calling some other suppliers who are close to you to see if they
have it, or ask your regualar supplier if they can get it. If they
need help tracking down the source, have them give me a call
785-841-4750. Bracker's carries it.

Hi Gang,
I can't seem to find something called Kaopaque 20 in my suppliers catalog. It's called for in a recipe for a ^6 porcelain clay body.
What is it? A type of clay like #6 tile clay or OM4 ball? Is there a substitute?
This is the clay body I want to try . Anyone out there ever try it?:
Neph. Sy ........... 30
Kaopaque 20 ...... 25
Silica.................. 30
O M 4 Ball ......... 15
Macaloid............ 1

Thanks for any info!
Logan

It's a domestic kaolin. (I think it's used in casting slips.)
Substitute whatever kaolins you have available and see which one works
best for you.

Logan --

White Non Plastic Delaminated Kaolin -- casters
use it, IIRC. Fires very white.

It's a kaolin. I use EPK instead.
