Hello...I have a question, here goes: In all of the substitute charts I have
seen they all recommend P-54 as a sub for Ferro frit 3134... My question is,
does the P-54 act the same as the 3134, do you use the same amount in a
glaze or is there a difference? Does the glaze come out the same? Thanks, Crista

Hi Crista: I have been using Frit 3134 instead of P-54 for years and have
found no difference in the glaze makeup....Mildred Herot

Thanks, Mildred, the reason I asked is we are running low on 3134, but have
quite a bit of the P-54 and didn't want to use it, if it was going to change
the way the glaze looks or acts. Thanks again... Crista

Crista --

Yes, you use the same amount in a glaze. Do you
ever use the digital fire website for reference?
Tony Hanson has collected mountains of
information that make finding answers easier.

http://ceramic-materials.com/cermat/material/a.html

is the website.

If you check frits 3134 and P-54 you'll see that
they're virtually identical.
