The original link was https which is typically secure
socket layer encrypted. This is important when
exchanging sensitive information such as billing or
credit card info. I like you can access the site
without the encryption, and you aren't exchanging
sensitive information it should be ok.

Subject: Re: Art and Design Community

My McAfee firewall software automatically blocked my
access to this site from the link below as it views it
as a "CA ROOT CERTIFICATE THAT IS NOT TRUSTED".
Has anyone else seen this notification with their
firewalls just for the link given below in Heather's
email to clayart?
Can anyone else, other than the posting individual on
ClayArt validate this site for me?
Oddly, if I query this address, ArtandDesignOnline.com
on google, and then click on the link, I am permitted
to access the webpage.
I suspect that the ArtandDesignOnline.com is a
redirecting link to another site that McAfee is
actually blocking.
Any ideas?

Thanks
Rick

Replace nelbanell with yelbanell when replying to this post.

This refers to the CA (Certificate Authority) problem as regards browsers:

http://www.southwest.com/help/cafaq.html

If McAfee Firewall also uses the certificates, as it probably does, you may
need to update the firewall, or seek a patch to allow pre-2000 certificates.

I think it may be that the page:
https://www.artanddesignonline.com/join/step1.aspx is too new, or too old,
or was never utilized or uploaded to the public webpage.

I can instruct my browser (Mozilla or Internet Explorer) to allow me to view
the page, but the page at that address then turns out not to exist (404 not
found error.)

Maybe there's a choice in McAfee Firewall to allow the site to be seen.

However, try going to the homepage of Art and Design:
http://www.artanddesignonline.com/ is the better url, though
https://www.artanddesignonline.com/ will also work.

Both have a button for joining, and both have the filename with the .php
extension. It's just the filename and extension "step1.aspx"
that has the problem.

Probably quite an innocent error on the part of the original poster, who may
still have an older version of the website that includes the troublesome
filename and extension on her system.

Sincerely,

Helen

One more thing that I noticed here, Heather's link below is to: " which as I previously noted, is blocked by my firewall.
Yet, accessing the "Join" page through the link as given by Google delivers me to:
http://www.artanddesignonline.com/join/step1.php
which is slightly different.
Any ideas of what is happening here? Are we being redirected to give our information to a false site?
Rick
