glaze calc and copying

some folks just do not like doing
chemistry and math. it makes them
nervous. if that is the case, hire someone.
or, ask a friend.

as i do. if i had a real problem i would
hire ron roy. then it would be done correctly
by an expert. well worth the money.
no messin about. he would get it right the first time.

or, i would call joe koons. work with him...as i do.
i sure don't pretend to know glaze like joe or ron.

there are dozens of folks on clayart that
are very good at glaze calc/computer math,
so..ask them.

i would not waste my time. it holds no interest
for me. but, i sure know that getting it right saves
time and energy.

folks ask me to help them with their firing.
folks ask me to help them with their throwing.
all the time. is that bad? not a bit. it solves
the problem...right now.
glaze calc is the same. if you do not do it, and
need the work done...either learn it, or ask someone else.
no harm in that. but getting the right balance of glaze and
clay and surface is critical. you have to do it, one way or the other.

i would rather have folks copy me, than for me to copy others.
how could anyone stand it if you heard.
`oh, mel, your work looks just like `wally's`.
god, poke a hole in my nose. end of story.

you can never control others sense of right and wrong, you
can only control your own.

Mel, a great theory, but I remember asking for help with a glaze a
while back and being lambasted by Lili and others for doing so. "You
should learn to do it yourself so I will not help you and therefore
you will be forced to learn "for your own good' " My example is a
little extreme but isn't that like saying to a drowning man, "You
really should learn to swim" .
Thank Goodness there are people like Ron, John, David Daniel and
Marcy who were willing to throw me a life buoy. I got exactly what I
needed from them, and yes, I will learn eventually, but they were
willing to help right then. My sincere thanks to those on Clayart who
do just that.
Thank you, thank you.
