Hey Dawn,

I have a SUPER ^6 cobalt blue. I found it in the archives (I think). =
Its called Wayne's Blue and it is the best deep cobalt blue I have seen. =
Lots of depth, shiny, killer surface, breaks transparent on ridges and =
texture. Customers love it. I fire to ^6 on Laguna's ^6 porcelain =
using RR and John's slow cool firing schedule. Who ever Wayne is; =
thanks! Here is the recipe:

Wayne's Blue

Kona F4 44.0
Gerstley Borate 26.0
OM4 (Ball Clay) 15.0
Silica 10.0
Dolomite 5.0=20
100.00

Add:
Cobalt carbonate 6.0

Hope this one helps.
Peace,

I can vouch for Allysons cobalt blue! It is fabulous on her porcelain!

This looks like an even more stable glaze - and the expansion is low enough
that it will not craze on many clay bodies.

Still - not many glazes will hold that much cobalt in them when next to food.
