Why speculate.
Get down to some basic research.
So many of you, in Europe especially where there are such wonderful =
museums, have access to so many historic artefacts.
I think there is a positive relationship between the employment of group =
labour pre Renaissance during the great Cathedral building events and =
the development of mass produced cheap pottery. There may even be a =
similar relationship in the Orient to the building of the Great Wall of =
China and the development of the Rice Bowl.
Just something any globe trotting studio potter might wish to explore ?
