(Functional table and domestic ware that is single fired to cone ten in
reduction. Traditional forms)
Johanna Chase (Johanna Chase Ceramics) (Dartmouth, MA, USA)
(Slipcast functional ceramics from hand made moulds. The work has a
strong emphasis on form and is finished in quiet colours with matte or
glossy glazes and in some cases, underglaze decorated with simple
patterns covered with a clear glaze.)
Jonathan Hancock and Patrick Lester (Steam Pottery) (St. Ives,
Cornwall, England, UK)
(High-fired glazed thrown stoneware and porcelain table and domestic
ware with modern lines)
Tom Batey (Moki Pottery and Metal Art) (Sandy, UT, USA)
(Functional pottery in various glazes and a lively line of
David and Patricia Eeles (Mosterton, West Dorset, England, UK)
(The Eeles, with their sons Benjamin and Simon produce mainly woodfired
stoneware with some marbled porcelain and raku in a former 17th century
coaching inn. David Eeles started his first studio in London, where he
specialized in slip-glazed and majolica ware. The family moved to
Dorset in the 1970's, where they built a three chambered wood fired
oriental type dragon kiln in 1976. The kiln takes about 4,000 pots to
fill, and is fired only once a year.)
