I finally finished building my first Raku kiln. Thanks to all the ClayArters
that helped me with their advice and answering so many of my questions. The
first firing was a great success. Photos and description of the kiln
building can be viewed on my blog, the link is below. Comments and criticism
greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

No kiln operates without a burner system! Why is there none shown? A kiln
without a burner really is for Dummies!
Why 1" thick ceramic fiber blanket when 1/2" thick will perform as well at
half the cost!

Dear Frank,
I'll get right on the photo and description of the burner system. I used 1
inch kaowool instead of 1/2 inch because I bought it on e-Bay and the whole
box was only 60 dollars.
Fired the kiln up yesterday in below zero temps with a foot aof snow on the
ground. What a blast. Thanks for the input.
Jeff.

Jeff- You got a really great deal on your Kaowool , I would have done the
same (By the way, "Kaowool" is a brand name, like "Fiberfrax", is the brand
name for ceramic fiber made by Carborundum Company).
