John:

I have no quarrel with you at all. You are not the one who repeated, =
cited, quoted--whatever--a statement about American Studio pottery and =
refused to accept the fact that it was just plain wrong, no matter what =
Great had said it.

Our intention does not matter when we write. What we say does. As any =
writer can tell you.

You are leaving out the "Haha" before the statement Bauhaus or Outhouse. =
And the entire conversation.

Please note the clarity of "My Way or the Highway". Any qualifying =
words in the Bauhaus statement would have clarified the matter. =
Suggestions: "Either the Bauhaus OR the Outhouse?" "If not Bauhaus, =
then Outhouse?" =20

I am afraid not, John. The message was read as written , not only by =
me, but by others. But, as I wrote: backpedaling is becoming an Olympic =
sport. Let us be brave about it...

Lili;
In the interest of good sportsmanship and honest dialogue, it might be =
worth
your while to look at the intent of the expression you've referenced: =
The
bauhaus or the outhouse. Far from comparing the two institutions (if I =
may
be allowed to refer to "the outhouse" as an institution) the expression
seeks to set up a choice...a choice which mirrors the popular phrase, =
"my
way or the highway."

Lili, so how is it? I express the same opinion or I have changed
my mind and backpedaled. You can't have it both ways. Or, maybe
"Back Peddling means something different where you studied? It is
very difficult to have a discussion with someone who has the
fundamental truth and facts, not realizing that we are talking about
opinions and ideas.

Hey, I accept your understanding Lili. I think it is
sincere. But your "Swift Boat" crew are purposely misunderstanding
for their own purposes. That is pretty sad.
