I'm off to Costa Rica for a little R&R next week. Would love to see
some pottery down there. Any ideas?

There's a small village in Guanacaste province that is less than a half
hour's drive from either Playas del Coco or Liberia (I can't remember the
name) where more than 10 families have small wood kilns and produce some
lovely burnished pots. It is worth the visit. But if you get the chance,
go to San Juan del Oriente in Nicaragua. It's about a 3 hour bus ride from
Liberia to Granada. The village is only about 20 minutes from Granada and
is fabulous. Beautiful pottery and very inexpensive.
