hello
thank you for your responses we are (my friend is also sharing a
studio with me ) still researching and trying out various sources. The
materials that are available here are various frits including some
ferro 3130, 3134.alkalinefrit, lead frit,borax frit.Of course
feldspars, ball clay and a lovely fire clay.
Ready made clays are ok but too expensive as I have had to invest a
lot in kiln etc. What I aiming at (if possible )is to make a low fire
clay body without Talc or frit, If that is asking too much.
Internet sources seem to have mostly clay bodies with talc or frit.
I read Mr Nigosh`s book on low fire and he did mention 50 fire clay 50
Ball clay.I am planning to make a batch of that.
Last week we tried reduction for the first time along with an
experianced potter we got some interesting results. But our chun glazes
were all satin matt white, lovely
to touch though. One glaze that I tried from clay times ~old gold~was
stunning. We also got a fantastic white firing clay at cone 9-10 which
has mostly fire clay and china clay.
I read all the posts everyday first thing in the morning.A great way
to start the day
Thank you
annapoorna

We hugely enjoyed the process

Hello
Thank you Mr Buck for responding to my inquiry.
We do get lovely terracotta firing bodies here, but a cream to white
firing with out frit or talc is the body we are looking for .
I have yet to go digging for clay as i am in urban india(bangalore),I
have done crazy things in the name of ceramics, picking up a shovel
and hunting for clay will be next on the list.
