Dear Mel,
I have not wish to dispute claims about costing of modern materials V =
traditional methods V fuel costs. I would be with your all the way on =
this one.
So, What about the technology, the science ? What is the life of ITC in =
the face of a real salt, Aka Sodium Chloride firing to 1300 =BA C . Is =
there a guarantee of 100 firings, 1000 firings, an indefinite life to =
infinity.
Because ITC is a proprietary material we, as end users, are not party to =
the composition This makes it impossible to estimate what might happen =
when Salt Glazing (NaCl) porcelain to Cone 10.
So how about some experimental information. A square foot of Ht Blanket, =
coated all round with your recommended ITC with a running total of =
weight gain over a hundred or so firings. Anyone out there willing to =
try ?
Best regards,
Ivor Lewis.
