Bonita Cohn is one of the 40 artists who have fired with Hiroshi Ogawa in
his Hikarigama, the =B3enlightened kiln,=B2 in Elkton, Oregon, in its eleven
year existence. the show =B3Woodburning Kiln of Hiroshi Ogawa,=B2 will be at
the Walters Cultural Center in Hillsboro. February 21 to March 28. This
will take place during NCECA ceramic conference in nearby Portland. Opening
reception is March 9, 5 to 9 pm. The reception will include Richard
Rowland=B9s woodfiring installation and a talk by the writer Barry Lopez.

Hi Bonita-

I look forward to seeing you in Portland! The pot you're =
sending for =20
the Hikarigama show looks like a beauty. I'm heading down next week =20=

for a firing of the back chamber with soda; that kiln just keeps =20
getting sweeter!
One comment- Hiroshi's kiln Hikarigama loosely translates to "the =20
ILLUMINATING kiln", not the enlightened kiln. Quite a different =20
implication...

It promises to be a fantastic show; well worth the trek over to =20=

Hillsborough from Portland. (very quick trip)
