Hi all,

Once again, I implore upon the great wisdom of the masses to give myself and
my partner direction. :o)

We have been given our first commission - a large sectional vase thrown in 3
sections. Yesterday we threw the bottom, the 2nd piece (upside down, so as
to connect to the bottom) and then the 3rd piece (normal side up - so as to
disconnect from the bat and then connect to the 2nd piece when it is
connected).

Today we are to connect all the sections. Does anyone have any advise or
good websites for the best and proper way to do this? Please email me
DIRECTLY at kcd@barrettconsulting.net or you are MORE than welcome to call
me at 978.455.1195

With our limited experience of sectional throwing, we threw 6 pieces for the
construction of 2 vases (one is for backup) but I am nervous about the next
part of the process: attaching each piece. The details: The 1st piece -
bottom piece of both pots were thrown extremely thick so to support the 2nd
and 3rd pieces. The 2nd piece was thrown "upside down" so it could be
attached to the 1st piece while still attached to the bat (just invert and
connect? - this is what I understood from our instruction book). The final
3rd top curved piece w/ lip was thrown normally on bat and will have to be
cut off and attached to whole of pot.

Was the 3rd piece thrown correctly (in other words, should it have been
thrown upside down or was normally ok)? How hard should each piece be before
we attach them? Do you "continue throwing" each piece when you attach it or
throw just enough to attach? These are my basic questions.

This is a long email and allot of questions, but if this vase doesn't work
we are in t-r-o-u-b-l-e. !

Thank you, oh great and mighty collection of wisdom! ;)
