Hi fellow Clayarters, sorry, I am off clayart right now- entirely too =
busy, but if someone has a good recommendation, could you email me at =
this address?=20

My favorite Indian restaurant has cracked its clay oven for cooking Nan- =
the Indian bread. The owner says that it is of white clay and that they =
heat it to 1200 degrees to cook the bread. Now, the bread is cooked by =
slapping the dough on to the side of the oven wall and it stays there =
until it is done. He would like to fix the crack in the oven and it has =
to be done from the inside because the outside of the oven is =
inaccessible.

do any of you have any good ideas for how to fix it? what material he =
could use? Would kiln cement work?

thanks for your thoughts on this!

Hi Everyone,
I always wondered if it was possible to make a tandoor oven out of the
clay we use.... wondering because of food safe issues/ temperature,
cracking of the clay. I thought this might not be of interest to people
here so never asked.
So, has anyone here made a tandoor clay oven. what clay did u use?
Success/failures? Did u fire it before cooking in it? I don't even know
what the right questions are..
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks
Charan
