mixing glaze and stain, getting bubbles

I'm a beginner looking for a little guidance on a fairly elementary
problem; hope you all don't mind!

I'm experimenting with mixing commercial stains and glazes, using
Spectrum dry cone 6 transparent glaze and Mason and Spectrum stains.
Generally the results are good, but I'm having trouble getting good
results with the encapsulated cadmium stains. Below 10% stain the color
is pretty weak, but by 10% lots of bubbles are remaining trapped in the
glaze. The problem isn't the clay body or the glaze thickness I don't
think because the glaze by itself and in combination with other stains
at 10% works beautifully, so it seems it's specific to certain stains.
Is there a simple adjustment I can make to the glaze that might solve
this problem? Would adding some flux to the glaze help? If so, which
one, and how much?

I've done a some searching on the web and not found an answer (or at
least not recognized it if I did!) What resources are there that might
help me with this type of problem?

Thanks!
Bruce
