The North Carolina Museum of Art is having its first major
exhibit of pottery: "The Potter's Eye: Art and Tradition in
North Carolina Pottery." Info about dates and admission

I wish the website had more photos of the works. They are
stunning. The exhibit shows traditional pottery and
historic pots that influenced traditional pottery. Along
side are works by six contemporary North Carolina potters.

We went last night. I had gotten the book earlier. I'm glad
I had. The book helps make understanding some of the pots
much easier than the sparse exhibit notes. I highly
recommend it, especially for people who can't see the
exhibit in person. The book is available from Amazon here:


I'll be going again next year on a group tour with Triangle
Potters Guild members. Anyone nearby who would like to join
us can write me to find out details. We don't have a date
set yet, but it will be a Saturday morning.
