orange glazes

in my experience...orange is always
produced by a combination of rutile and iron.

it is the place to start.

a nice base glaze...3 percent rutile, 1 percent iron...and
work up adding more of each til you find your glaze.

Mel, thanks for the tip. I'm reviewing most texts but my main angst was
for oxidation. I'll try your suggestion(since your from MN . . . my
studio's in the Northrup King Building). Thanks, Kate
