Dear Anthony,

Thank you for your erudite reply.

Just one query. When you speak of a casting slip, is this a =
deflocculated slip or just a mixture of water and clay powder ?=20

I would like your views on a volumetric, not mass, comparison of a =
deflocculated casting slip and a moist clay body.Which of these would =
contain the greatest volume of water.

Best regards,

Ivor

Hello Ivor,
Thank you for your rely, and in response:

1. The casting slip would be a blend of clays, flux and filler. To achieve
such high solids content deflocculants would be needed
2. That with the highest mass of water would also have the highest volume
of water

Antony
