Master Workshops Program presents:

Throwing Plates and Platters With Joyce Michaud=20

Saturday, November 5, 10:00 am - 4:00 pm Sunday, November 6, 10:00am -
4:00 pm

Fee: $ 135.00=20

Join us for this two day hands on workshop as Joyce provides an in-depth
study on the throwing and finishing of plates and large platters. She
will cover structural strength, concepts for low open forms, methods for
centering, a variety of throwing techniques and information on
finishing, firing and compositions. Previous throwing experience is
required.

Joyce Michaud graduated from Lycoming College with a BA in Art and
Education, attended Columbia Visual Arts College and received her MFA in
Ceramics at George Washington University where she taught for 7 years.
She is now an Assistant Professor and teaches at Hood College where she
is also the Director of the Graduate Ceramics Arts program and Studio
Arts Coordinator. Her work is in many private and public collections
including the Smithsonian American Art Museum's Renwick Gallery. For
